"Aki? I can't see you.." Kalor started searching in a circle for her, then felt the icy rush of water hit his legs. He found Akili, and held her close. "Aki...we have to get out of the water."
"Maybe..." Galia murmured, sitting down on the ground beside Dray. She could dimly make out the shadowy shapes of her friends.
"I can look for them. I know the mountains like I know how to fly, I can find them." Kasari offered, shaking her wings for the fifth time to get the water off of them.

Kikoto shook her head and hugged Seths arm. "Nah, there okay, Kalor and Akili are both strong, nothing will happen."
Akili jumped when Kalor grabbed her. "Where is out of the water?" The water was now up to her waste.

"I don't know, but we have to find it." Kalor took Akili's arm, and led her around, then they finally stepped into shallower water, then out of it completely. They were both soaking wet. Kalor was freezing cold, he was shivering violently, but neither of them could warm up without getting away from the fog and the water.
"I think I hear something..." Kasari murmured, cocking her head to catch the sound better. The fog killed sound, so it was hard, but she could just make out rushing, deep water. "FLOOD!" She yelled, her voice deepening into a dragon's fighting roar.
Kalor stopped, hearing Kasari's roar, very faintly. "Did you hear that?"

Akili nodded. "Yes, your cold, here." She gave back the jacket. "Don't argue with me, your human, you can get sick easyer." She hugged him, then felt the water around her ankles again. "We ahve to go... Now!" The water was fast rising, and as she led Kalor away, it got deeper, and was soon to her knees again, then her waste, then her neck, she was swimming. The current was very strong and every so often, she would catch and under current or down pull and be yanked under, but all the times she was able to get back up. Soon the current got to strong she wasn't strong enough to swim in it and was swept away from Kalor, she was swept by a tree, and she grabbed one of its branches, then climbed up it, out of the water for now. "KALOR!!!!!" She couldn't see him.

Kalor was swimming with major difficulties. "AKI!" He yelled, then started looking for her. He almost hit the branch before he caught it, and held on tight for dear life. It was a fight between life and death. He clutched the branch, wrapping his arms and hands around it, the current tugging at him like a dog who wants to play tug-o-war. It was dragging at his legs, his torso was out of the water, but he could not hold on much longer. He lunged for the tree trunk, wrapped his arms around it, and held on for his life.
Kasari could hear the water more strongly now. Suddenly, it slammed into her back, knocking her forward. "It's a flash flood!" She yelled, hoping the others were okay.
Galia was dragged under, but resurfaced. DRAY! Are you alright!?

Akili looked down seeing him, she grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him up as best she could. "KALOR!" Once he was up, she hugged him. "Are you okay?"
Dray grabbed Galia's waste with one arm, and used the other to keep surfaced. Galia, hold on. He let the water push him back then he grabbed a low hanging branch and held on with his left hand, his strong one, Galia was on the other one.
Kikoto screamed as she was pulled under, her foot wedged inbetween two rocks, she could get back up.

Seth heard Kikoto scream. He found her by accidentally brushing his foot against her, then dived down and pulled her ankle out of the rocks. He held on around her waist with one hand, and gripped a tree with the other, his strong right hand. He wrapped his arm around it, and braced his legs against it as well. Hold on to me, Kiko!
Galia held on around his waist with her left hand, and held onto another branch with the other, her hand gripped tight around it so that she could not be dragged away from him. She held on tightly, her fingers clamped like vices around it, the cold water rushing over her, just below her throat.
"I'm okay. I hope the others are too." Kalor murmured, holding on around the tree trunk with his strong arm, his right one, his other arm around her waist so that they wouldn't be separated.
Kasari swore, spreading her dripping wings and slamming them into the water, suspending her for seconds at a time before she was dragged back under. She took no notice of her wounded wing, knowing that it was fatal to hang onto her weakness. She continued pounding the roaring waters, then her wing was caught between a floating log and a tree that was able to withstand the fury of the raging waters. She roared in pain, unable to fold her wing, she grabbed the end of the log instead and hung on for survival.

Kikoto held onto Seth, moving where he moved, suddenly a floating log slammed into her and she was forced to let go of die by a log. She let go and clung to the log as it floated away. Don't follow me! The water woun't go on for ever!!! Soon she was out of sight.
Dray clung to the branch then lifted Galia up on it. Then he climbed on it. He held her close, she would not get away.

Galia nodded, sitting beside him, one arm around the tree trunk for support. "I hope the others are okay..." She murmured, hoping that they weren't injured or trapped, or worse...dead.
Kasari's blood red eyes widened as the log swung around, and pinned her to the tree, slamming into her chest. She coughed, now she had one wing pinned down by the other end, and she was trapped against the tree trunk, her back against the bark. "SHIT!" She swore, trying to shove it away.

Akili watched the waters die down, and were soon gone. "Lets go." She jumped out of the tree, she was about fifteen feet off the ground, she rolled and avoided injury, then waited for Kalor.
Kikoto pushed herself up as the last of the water was gone. She looked around, nothing looked the same, she was lost, she didn't know where she was, everything looked different, everything was.... white?

KIKO!? Seth called, hoping he could find her. He let go of the tree, and looked around.
Kalor sprang out of the tree next to Akili, then rolled on the landing. He looked around. "Can you smell your way back?" He asked hopefully.
Kasari cursed, trying to push the log off her. From just below her chest down, she was scraped, and the log had lodged in another tree, so she was still stuck. She saw Dray and Galia. "HEY!" She yelled.
Galia looked over, then jumped out of the tree, waiting for Dray, then walking over to Kasari. "You okay?"
"Shut up and help me out of here."

Dray jumped out of the tree and walked over to Kasari. "Ready....?" He grabbed the log and jerked it away, freeing her. Then he saw Seth, but not Kikoto. "What happened to Kikoto Seth??" He walked up to him. "You lost her!" Dray was surprisingly, angry, but not like he could be.
Akili looked at the ground and shook her head. "To much water, it washed everything away." She did hear yelling. "Over here." Soon they found Dray and Seth. "Shut up with the yelling already!" She smacked Dray hard in the back of his head.
Dray turned when Akili smacked him. "Whats was that for!" He had calmed down, but was still slightly aggravated. "I felt like it." "Bitch" Akili smacked him again. "Don't call me that." "Why not? You are a dog after all." "So?" "So, my point is you are what I called you, DON'T SMACK ME!!!" "Fine..." She sighed.
Kikoto stood up, her side was badly bruised, and snow was falling everywhere. "Snow?" It was too wet, the others would not be able to track her by smell. She started walking and slipped on some ice, falling flat on her bottom. "Ouch...." She looked around, she was in the middle of a large, frozen lake. It was so big she thought it might even be a sea! She stood up again and looked behind her. There was a huge cliff with a frozen waterfall going down it. How did I not die from that fall? She felt her clothes starting to freeze on her skin and shivered, it must have been below twenty where she was! She tried to reach Seth with her mind, but he must have been to far away. A light snow soon started to fall, making a thin white blanket that went all along the lake. There was a big hole on the ice where the many tons of water fell, breaking it and flowing into the others. She started to walk around, trying to warm her frozen body, but it was no use. Her hair was frozen stiff, as were her clothes. SETH! He would not hear her, she was to much out of range. She slipped on the ice once again, falling face first onto his. Kikoto laid there for a long time, when she heard the growling of wolves. She jumped up and looked around, they had surrounded her. Damn! She grabbed for her swords, but they had frozen stuck inside their coverings. One wolf leaped at her, and she dodged it, but not the others, soon she was riped up and in pain, when one of her swords came loose, it was her fire blade, and it had for some reason, turned warm. She started hacking at the wolves, and they were soon all dead, and she was close to it. SETH!!!!! She fell to her knees, tears falling from her eyes. Sethy.... The cold was making her drowsy, she wanted to sleep, and if she did, she was aware that she would not wake up. But still she pressed on and got back up to her feet, blood soaked the ice around her, both her blood and the wolves. She walked slowly across the ice, when she fell a third time, from sheer exhaustion. Kikoto was now in the dead center of the gigantic lake, she looked around. She was freezing, and was starting to get sick with hypothermia. Still she pressed on, not allowing herself to die. "Come on Kikoto.... Get up, you can do it." She spoke to herself, self motivating her body, and she got to her knees, but fell over again, this time, not getting up. Her eyes were glazed over, giving her the appearance of being blind, but she saw clearly, and what she saw was the snow slowly starting to cover her, and it soon did. Seth..... She called out, one last time, hoping he would hear her, before staring into space, not blacking out, and yet, she was not conscious. It was like she was sleep walking, and aware of nothing. In time she was but a mound in the middle of a vast area, not noticeable that it was a body of water, she was completely covered in snow.

KIKO! Seth yelled, hearing her, then freezing, searching for the source of her voice. Kiko, where are you!? He started moving towards where the water had gone, first walking slowly, then faster and faster until he was in a dead run straight after the water's course. He stopped, coming to the snow-covered area, seeing no one. Kiko...? She had to be here somewhere. He looked around desperately, checking everywhere, every lump of snow, but not finding anything that even resembled a human being. He finally ventured out onto the ice, narrowing his eyes against the harsh glare of the sun on sparkling white snow. He knew what snow blind was, and he knew very well that it could happen in a place like this, with not a shadow for cover. But he shaded his eyes against the sun, and continued searching, finding the dead bodies of the wolves. Kikoto had been here! He recognized the burns on their bodies from the fireblade, and he looked on with renewed hope, slowly growing colder and colder, but always searching for Kikoto. Finally he found her, and dug her out of two feet of snow. He shook her to warm her up, then hugged her close. Oh god, Kiko...are you with me? Are you okay? He started heading back to the others, holding her bridal style, his strong arms holding her tightly, trying to warm her.
Kasari didn't realize how heavy the log had been until Dray jerked it away. She immediately dropped to the ground, tore her wing free from the pinned end of the log, and shook herself violently. She beat her wings hard, warming herself after the violently cold water had washed over her, then stood, but immediately collapsed. Now she knew how heavy the log actually was. Once the water had rushed away, it had fallen against her legs, crushing both back against the tree. It had been about two feet wide, and slanted diagonally across her body, pinning her harshly to the tree, and leaving scrapes from its bark. She sucked in her breath as she realized that it had broken at least two ribs, cracked more, and she had blood slowly leaking from the bad scrapes. Deciding to ignore it for the moment, she walked past Galia, leaning her shoulder against trees that had survived the force of the rushing wave of icy water, then stood beside a huge maple, looking out through the forest. She did not see Seth and Kikoto anywhere. "Has ANYONE seen Kikoto!?" She demanded, biting her lip with sharp fangs when she accidentally slammed back against the tree, then standing silently, hunting for her friend with her eyes, before limping into the trees and vanishing. She would return soon, it was impossible to get Kasari lost. Once she had disappeared, she stopped where no one could see her, and stretched out her wings. Well...here's the test, eh? She thought softly, then slammed both wings down with the force of a war dragon, rising into the air. The movement shot pain through her, but she ignored it, and staggered into the air, then followed the path of the water. Two great eagles found her, and attacked, one on each wing. "LET ME GO!" Kasari roared, tearing her wings out of their sharp talons, then raising her claws, and slashing one almost in half. The other fled after watching its comrade fall to the ground, lifeless. And Kasari moved slowly on through the air, agony lashing her like a thousand whips, only her sheer determination to find her friend keeping her in the air. She soared out over the frozen lake, not realizing the deadly cold would make her wings seize up completely. But it did, and Kasari crash landed, with not a clue where she was, no way to thaw her already frosty wings, but she made them beat, and folded them before they froze again. She spied two figures far on, and came upon Seth and Kikoto. "Are...you okay?" She gasped, trying desperately to get enough air to stay conscious.
Seth stared. "I don't know about Kikoto. She's alive, but unconscious." "Duh, ass." "Hey, you're here too." "Yeah, so? I'll survive." "Not with this cold. You're cold-blooded, remember?" "No I'm not." "Okay then...but no one can survive here, I'll warrant." "The ice is cracking..." "LET'S GO THEN!" Seth roared, and they dashed across the ice to safety on the shore, barely in the nick of time. Both were panting heavily.

Kikoto felt herself being carried, but could not find the strength to open her eyes. She knew she had frost bite, and hypothermia to match, she didn't know if she would make it out of this one, not this time. But she did know one thing, she was going to live long enough to see Seth again, and would take it from there.

Seth pulled a blanket out of his pack, pausing a moment, and draping it over Kikoto, wrapping it tight around her, then warming it slowly with his own warmth. Hang on, Kiko. He murmured softly, hugging her close. Just hang in there.
Kasari slowly fell behind Seth, then decided that walking was getting too slow, she was lagging too far behind. She spread her frost-tinged wings, beat them hard to warm them, then forced herself into the air, every beat of her wings drawing a painful gasp from her, but she was flying directly above Seth, her shadow falling over him. They would be with the others soon.

Akili's ears twitched and she looked up in the direction, then she smelled Seth, and Kasari. "I'll be right back." She took off, seeing Kasari, then Seth, holding Kikoto. "What happened?!" She ran up to Seth. "Where was she?!"
Kikoto moaned but did not wake up. She could not hear Seth, in either voice or mind, it was like she was dead, but wasn't.

"Covered in two feet of snow on a lake. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. Help me warm her up, slowly, so she doesn't die of the heat rising too fast. She probably has hypothermia, and frostbite to boot." Seth murmured, then sat down, still holding Kikoto.
Kasari landed, biting back a scream of pain when her wing brushed a branch lightly. Both wings were torn by the eagles' talons, and frozen and thawed in the space of an hour, too, making them extremely sore and sensitive. She staggered to one of the clearer spots, and sank down, closing her eyes silently, her head lowering into her hands, her knees drawn to her chest.
