Bretagne stared at this creature, 'Imp' by name, and narrowed her brilliant golden eyes. "What do you mean, you already know?" Lashing her tail with wariness stabbing through her, she growled softly. There was something about this Imp that gave her a glimmer of the evil he was, something that gave away the fact he was not to be trusted. Alister was different, but this....creature...was evil. Pure evil. Her canine ears flattened against her fire-bright hair, and had she been in one of her two fox forms - which she had forgotten about - her hackles would have risen. If it had been the nine-tailed version....this 'Imp' would be cursed for a thousand years, at her will. "What do you want, anyway?" Her voice had a bladelike edge to it, with a scorching anger rarely seen by anyone in their lifetime. Fury, oddly with no fear, lanced her heart, and she half-bared her fangs, suddenly and inexplicably on the offensive. She had no intention of giving anything away to him, anything he didn't know already, by whatever sorcery he used.

Imp laughed quietly. I hear the fire in your voice... Imp said as he made a fist with his right hand, lifted his pointer finger and conjured a flame on it. He tossed it at Bre and opened his hand causing it to explode about a foot from her face. Calm down... We're not so different you and I... And I wouldn't get me angry or you could both end up... You know... Imp grinned showing all of his white sharp teeth. You could be messing with something exponentially more powerful than you... At least while you don't know who you are... And if you must know, I'm hear to torture you. And I've already begun.

Bretagne pulled her head back as the fire exploded, then shook her head, flattening long orange-tinted ears. "Oh, is that so? And if we knew who we were, then we would be stronger than you, eh?" She narrowed her eyes aggressively. "I think I'll find out who I am. Then we'll see if you're so cocky." Shaking her thick hair back over her shoulders, she crossed her legs, listening to the soft rustle of the wind through the trees, and straightened one pant leg. "And who do you propose to be, anyway?"

Imp's closed his mouth and formed a sober look on his face and clenched his hands into fists... I'm saying... That the two of you together MIGHT be an even match for me in my current condition... he said through gritted teeth. I'm not here to pick a fight out of you, I'm just here to annoy the living hell out of you. If you pick a fight with me it will be your last; I can't have my friends thinking I'm weak. If you die, my fun would be over, but I could find more eventually. He opened his hand and conjured a fire ball. It floated there for a moment then he feigned as if to throw it at Bre. He stopped at the last moment, closed his hand, and it disappeared into smoke. I'd rather not let you know who or what I am. If you ask again I'd consider it a challenge, just as if you had tried to kill me. I'll tell you if I ever feel like it. Anything else you'd like me to address?!

Bretagne smiled flatly at the odd creature who called himself 'Imp.' "And after telling me to calm down, too. You might want to follow your own advice, nay?" Twitching her fox tail around her leg, she shook her head, a slightly pitying expression on her face. Whoever his friends were, she decided she was tired of aggravating him, and fell silent, resuming her search for memory. Something nagged at the back of her mind, begging her to pay attention to it, but then when she tried to grasp the memory it flitted away back to the recesses of her thoughts, only to escape when she tried to catch it again. Sighing in frustration, she looked back to the Imp. "Why do you want to annoy us?"

Alister had his own thoughts and questions for the strange creature, but kept them to himself, because Bretagne seemed to be asking them all and because she was handling it fine. As a result of this, he decided to keep his mouth shut.
****************************************************
I don't need to be calm if I don't want to be... And do I look like the kind of person who can remain calm and collected at all times?! Imp said irritated. Despite himself, he managed to calm down for what he was going to say next. I have no other purpose in life, if you can call mine that, than to have fun, and this is my own special brand of fun. You two just happen to be the most interesting folk around. Lucky for you huh? You spun the wheel of misfortune and I'm your prize.

Bretagne nodded, and cracked a wry smile. "So I see. Lucky us." She rolled her eyes. "Tell me, how are we so interesting? We're a pair of people sitting in the forest. What is so interesting?" She inquired, leaning back on her hands against the grass. She obviously wasn't frightened, nor annoyed, by Imp, actually she found him rather interesting, if strange. And certainly evil - though he wasn't doing anything serious or harmful as of yet. Yet. It may change, though - or it might not and he may be here simply to irritate them as he had stated. However, that was highly doubtful.

Guess I could give some vague hints... Imp said with a finger on his chin considering. Or not! He kept his finger on his chin for a moment more than removed it. Ok, I'll be very vague then... How about... Neither of you are quite what you seem... Neither are you are from here... He was going to leave it at that but decided not to. He pointed at Bre. You and I aren't so different at all. Oh, and I may be lying about any or all of them. Figured I'd mention that. Can't give away info without my own sick twist. he said flashing his sharp dagger-like teeth.

Bretagne smiled wryly. "So I see." She remarked, and shook her head, scrutinizing Imp with bright golden eyes. "Not quite what we seem, eh? And not from here." Blinking, she cocked her head at his reference to their not being so different. However, she didn't ask about it, knowing she wouldn't get an answer, or just a cryptic one in stead of a proper, understandable reply. "I'd think it'd get boring tormenting people all the time. Maybe I'm wrong." She smirked, and flopped back on the grass, crossing her arms behind her head and staring up at the pale azure sky. Her tail twitched as if it was a separately living creature. "Somehow I doubt you're lying. I can hear the truth in those hints." She replied, not looking back to him. Her ears twitched at her reference to hearing, and she closed her eyes, listening for a reply. Whatever he was, whoever he really was and wasn't revealing, he wasn't a good creature. But she already knew that. However, he did have a few grains of truth lodged in that diminutive body of his and the quick tongue. Certainly he was an interesting one to talk to, if rather miffing.

Bretagne supposedly being able to tell that his hints were true irked Imp a bit. Though when she actually found the truth she might not be happy with all of it so it wasn't too bad. She could also be bluffing but he doubted it and so did his friends. they were always helpful in the information department. Tormenting boring people is boring, tormenting interesting people is interesting. It's as simple as that. Even you should be able to understand. In the condition the two of you are in, it becomes even more fun. He paused for a moment and thought about what to say next. If you were in my place you'd be doing the same as I am. Don't say that you wouldn't; there are factors to this that you don't even know about!

Bretagne lifted her head and looked at him. "I didn't say I wouldn't. I'm not in your position, you are. And since you are doing this, you must be speaking the truth again." She let her head fall back, and closed her eyes, shifting her arms behind her head. "Besides, I doubt I'll ever be in your position, anyway." She twitched her tail, and smiled slightly half to herself. "But I do wonder what it is that makes me so interesting..." She had found Imp to be more a source of useful information than annoying, so far at least. Though perhaps that could change.

Imp inhaled and exhaled noisily. I already told you what's interesting about you. In a way... I'm not going to repeat my self... You'll figure out at some point or another I think. But I most likely won't leave after that... It's now the way I do things. So you might as well get used to it.

Bretagne smiled to herself. "Apparently. Though mostly I was talking to myself that time, you know." She felt the breeze drifting over her face, lifting a few strands of hair from over her eyes, and sighed, listening to Imp get himself worked up over her absentminded statement. "I doubt I'll even begin to comprehend why you'd want to stick around, and I'm not going to bother asking. Because if what I've judged of you so far is right, you won't tell me anyway." Having stated this, she sank back into her mind for awhile before surfacing from the black recesses of her ocean of thought and opening her eyes to stare up at the sky. At last she spoke. "You certainly know a lot." She commented, and pulled her head up to look at him, ears twitching. "Though it does make me wonder."

Lemme guess? About my friends? Imp formed the flame in his hand threateningly and then it was gone. I'm not saying anything about my friends... They are my secret and mine alone. Maybe you'll find out about them, but I'd like to keep that from happening.

Bretagne raised a brow, and looked at Imp. "I don't need to know about your friends. I talk to myself, though through aid of your friends perhaps you know that already. Perhaps not." She sat up, and leaned back on her hands, looking at the odd little creature speculatively. "If I can't tell anything else about you, at least you're interesting. That counts for something." A brief grin flitted across her face.
